BE IT RESOLVED BY TIM COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BA1aRS11IELD, as -.41EREAS, the Council of the City of Bakersfield did on the 26th day of December, 1945, pass its Resolution of Intention No. 652, to order the following work to be done, to wit: That the following described portion of 17th Street and the alley running easterly and westerly through Block 421 C, and the lands included within the boundaries of such portions, as described, be abandoned; save and except the perpetual right and easement to use and enjoy any or all of the property described herein for the purpose of constructing, reconstructing, installing, laying, maintaining or repairing the following: .A sewer line and all of its component parts used or enjoyed in connection therewith; also any other instrumentalities of sanitation; also water pipes, fire hydrants and appliances for fire protection and all appurtenances thereto belonging; also water pipes and connections for the distribution of a domestic water supply; also any other puulic syster, or thing and all of its component parts which may be used and enjoyed in connection therewith, that the Gity of Bakersfield may desire to place or to have placed therein; All of that portion of 17th Street lying between the westerly line of Cedar Street and the easterly line of Pine Street; also all of the alley running easterly and westerly through Block 421 C, City of Bakersfield, all as shown and delineated,on Map of the City of Ba.ers- field, recorded November 25, 1398, in 3ook 1 of Llaps at pages 13 and 14, Records of Kern County, California. All of the herein proposed work and improvement shall be done in pursuance of an act of the Legislature of the State of California, entitled ".AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR TILL LAYING OUT, OPENIIJG, EY:TENDI dG, 1. WIDEINI:` ?G, STRAIGHTENING OR CLOSIi`T'i UP, IN '11fiOLE OR IN PART, ANY STREET, SQU.Aith, LANE, ALLEY, COURT OR PL.ACl� 'ldI'TI3IN lulliICIP.ALITIES A1JD `20 CONDEi;1N .A1JD ACi�UIRE aNY 41D ALL L.AN`D AECESS>AI�y OR CO:NENIEIdT FOR THAT PURPOSE," approved Iularch 61 1889, and the several acts amendatory thereof or supplemental thereto. For further particulars reference is hereby made to Resolution of Intention No. 652, on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Bakersfield. WHEPZaS, the Street Superintendent of the City of Bakersfield did thereupon cause notices of the passage of said Resolution to be posted and published for ten (10) days in the manner as required by law; and WIMREAS, no objections have been filed against said work and improvement, and more than ten (10) days have elapsed after the expiration of the time of publication of said notices of the passage of said Resolution and the Council of the City of Bakersfield has acquired jurisdiction to order said work as proposed in said Resolu- tion to be done; NO'1i, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that said work and improvement be done as aforesaid and as specifically described in said Resolution of Intention No. 652, and that said portion of 17th Street lying between the westerly line of Cedar Street and the easterly line of Pine Street; also all of the alley running easterly and westerly through Block 421 C, as said streets and alley are shown and delineated on hiap of the City of Bakersfield, recorded November 25, 1898, in Book 1 of baps at pages 13 and 14, Records of Lern County, California, be closed. ---- - - - - -- 000---- - - - - -- 2n I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield, at a regular meeting thereof held on the -A day of 1946, by the following vote: CA"'NAKIS.
