HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 36-46RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD CALIFORNIA, OFA" PPUBLICHIMPROVEMENTIDISTRIMATTER 3 t U N0. 6591 OF SAID CITY, PURSUANT TO RESOLUTION OF INTENTION ADOPTED BY SAID COUNCIL ON THE 7th DAY OF OCTOBER, 1946. WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Bakersfield, California, did in open session on the 18th day of November, 1946, open, examine and publicly declare all sealed proposals or bids for the construc- tion of the following work to be done and improvements to be made in said City, to wits To construct sanitary sewers of six (6) inch cement concrete sewer pipe in Blocks 201, 202, 2131 214, 215 and 216 Kern Division, and in Miller Street, all in the City of Bakersfield. To construct manholes and lampholes as shown on the plan for said work and to place "Y" branches for house connections at each and every lot, piece, or parcel of land in the district, the exact location of said "Y" branches to be designated by the City Engineer, all as more particularly described in Resolution of Intention No. 659, passed and adopted by the said Council on the 7th day of October, 1946, and on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Bakersfield, California. For further particulars reference is hereby made to said Resolution of Intention and also to the plans, profiles and specifi- cations for "Public Improvement District No. 659" on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Bakersfield, and all of said plans, profiles and specifications heretofore approved by the said Council of said City are incorporated herein and made a part hereof, and reference is hereby made thereto for a more particular description of said work, and WHEREAS, the said Council has determined and decided that the contemplated work and improvement hereinbefore mentioned was, in the 1. opinion of said Council, of more than local or ordinary public benefit, and the said Council has made the costs and expenses of said work chargeable upon a district. For a particular description of the said district, reference is hereby made to said Resolution of Intention. All of the work herein ordered shall be done and carried through in pursuance of an Act of the Legislature of the State of California, designated the "Improvement Act of 1911" approved April 7, 1911, and all acts amendatory thereof. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that said Council hereby rejects all of the said proposals of bids except the hereinafter mentioned, and hereby awards the contract for said work and improvement to the lowest, regular responsible bidder, to wit: to PIPE LINE CONSTRUCTORS, at the prices named in their bid for said work on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Bakersfield, California. The City Clerk is hereby directed to cause a notice of award of contract to be published in the manner and form required by law by two (2) insertions in the The Bakersfield Californian, a daily newspaper, printed, published and of general circulation in the City of Bakersfield, California, and hereby designated for said purpose by said Council. 2.
