fornia., did, on the 7th day of Uctober, 1946, adopt esolution
of Intention 'To. 6j9, for the construction of certain i;:provenients
in "Fublic Improvement Jistyict IIo. 059"; and
pursuant to the provisions of the Labor Code of
the State of California, it is necessary tliat the Council of the
City of falsersfield, California, ascertain and determine the general
prevailing rate of wages on public ,,o-rks, and Jy the provisions of
said Code make it mandatory upon the awarding body of any public
contr -ct where the said body subsequently calls for aids for any
public improvement, to ascertain and determine the prevailing rate
of per diem crates iii tae locality in -,4liic.a the ;�or1z i5 to be per -
forLmed, for each craft or type of worlaiian or .r.eciianic needed to
execute the contract, and also the general prevailing rate for
legal holiday and overtime work for each craft of type of 'r OrxiGiail.

California, has ascertained and does hereby deteviaine that the
general prevailing rate of per diem rages in tie locality in ;inch

Positions not listed above will be allocated in accord-
ance with the definitions -which appear in the special provisions,
as interpreted in the light of this classification.
Tile minimum -wage paid to all skilled labor, for -which
rates are not shown above, shall be not less than yl.45 per hour.
The minimum -wage paid to all intermediate labor, for
vihich rates are not siiol,n above, shall be not less titan yl.22j
per hour.
The mini.iauri swage paid to all unskilled labor, for which
rates are not shorn above, shall be not less than P"1.15 per hour.
Overtime -- one and one -half (1 1/2) times the above
rates.
Sundays and holidays (except watchmen, guards and. flag-
men) -- one and one -half (1 1/2) times the above rates.
The rates of wages including overtime, holiday or
uunday rates, above speciriea are subject to the effect, if applic-
able hereto, of executive orders of the President of the United
States and to any modification thereof and to any and all lawful
orders of the President or any other authorized i�ederal officer
or agency, insofar as the same may be applicable to this prevailing
rate of -wages. In case of any inconsistency? the rates fixed by
any such applicable Federal order, -whether higher or lover, shall
control.

Order was passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakers-
field at a regular meeting thereof held on the 23th day of October,
1946, by the following vote:
