BE IT RELiOLVED 13Y 121iE COUNCIL Oi+' THE CI'T'Y OF 3A,.0LR6_2ILLD that
certain improvements are proposed to be done and made within the
boundaries of the proposed assessment district hereinafter described.
In connection therewith, the Council hereby finds and determines,
to wit:
1. That tiie nature, location and extent of the proposed
improvement consists of the acquisition of all land necessary for
the opening of a 60 -foot street between t11e southerly line of 2nd
Street and the northerly right of gray line of the Bern Island Canal.
That the property necessary to be acquired for said purpose is more
particularly described as follo:rs:
eginning at a point on the southerly line of 2nd Street, in
Lowell "ddition to the Town of Bakersfield, that is distant
316.69 feet Westerly from the center line of "P" Street, in
said .Addition; thence southerly parallel with the center
line of said 1°P" Street a distance of 579.39 feet; thence
to the left a distance of 249.31 feet along the arc of a
circle having a radius of 50 feet and a radial central point
that is 30 feet distant westerly, at right anzile to "P" Street
center line, from the point of termination of a 40 foot
southerly extension of the line hereinbefore described as
being parallel with said "P" Street center line; thence
northerly parallel with the center line of said "P" Street
a distance of 579.37 feet to the southerly line of- said
2nd street; thence easterly, along the southerly line of
said 2nd Street a distance of 60 feet to the point of begin-
ning, containing 0.97 acres of land;

County liecorder of Vern County, California, January 7, 1397.

Cleric of the City of Bakersfield on July 3, 19469 and open to inspection.

specially assessed to pay the costs and expenses of such proposed
improvement are generally defined as follows.

California, and as sihown. by tile plat of such uistrict on file in the

territory to be included in the assessment district is indicated by
a boundary line.
3. That no amount or percentage is proposed to be paid toward
the cost of such improvement or acquisition from any source otihcr than
special assessments upon benefited property.
4. The law under whicii the proceedings are to be conducted is
an act cf the Legislature of the State of California entitled "Street
opening act of 1329," approved :::arch. u, 1339, and the several acts
amendatory Hereof or supplemental thereto.
