HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 66-39RESOLUTION A 6(o ^ 39 A RESOLUTION ORDERING THE CLOSING OF THE ALLEY IN FRACTIONAL BLOCK 136, IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, as follows: WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Bakersfield did on the 14th day of'August, 1939, pass its Resolution of Intention No. 627, to order the following work to be done, to-wit: That the following described alley be closed and the lands included within the boundaries of said alley be aban- doned. All of the alley running northerly and southerly through fractional Block 136, City of Bakersfield, as said block is shown on that certain map entitled "Map of the City of Bakersfield, Kern County, California," filed in the office of the County Recorder of Kern County, California, November 25, 1898. All of the herein proposed work and improvement shall be done in pursuance of an act of the Legislature of the State of California, entitled "AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR THE LAYING OUT, OPENING, EXTENDING, WIDEN- ING, STRAIGHTENING OR CLOS- ING UP, IN WHOLE OR IN PART ANY STREET, SQUARE. LANE, ALLEY, COURT OR PLACE WITH- IN MUNICIPALITIES AND TO CONDEMN AND ACQUIRE ANY AND ALL LANDS NECESSARY OR CONVENIENT FOR THAT PUR- POSE," approved March 6, 1889, and the several acts amendatory thereof or supplemental thereto. For further particulars reference is hereby made to Resolution of Intention No. 627, on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Bakersfield. WHEREAS, the Street Superintendent of the City of Bakers- field did thereupon cause notices of the passage of said Resolution to be posted and published for ten (10) days in the manner as required by law; and WHEREAS, no objections have been filed against said work and improvement, and more than ten (10) days have elapsed after the expiration of the time of publication of said notices of the passage of said Resolution and the Council of the City of Bakersfield has acquired jurisdiction to order said work as proposed in said Resolu- tion to be done; NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HERP3Y ORDERED that said work and improvement be done as aforesaid and as specifically described in said Resolution of Intention No. 627, and that said alley running northerly and southerly through fractional Block 136, City of Bakers- field, as said block is shown on that certain map entitled "bap of the City of Bakersfield, Kern County, California ", filed in the office of the County Recorder of Kern County, California, November 25, 1898, be closed. ---- - - - - -- 000---- - - - - -- I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield on the �. day of L _ , 19399 by the following vote: RYES, SOD£N, MARMRDUKE, M.MILLRN, PAULY, SMITH, SOLLERS, WILSON NOES:-- --- -- -- ---- -- ----- -- -- ---- ---- - -- - -- ------------------------- - --- - - -- -------------- ABSENT:__ __________ _ City Clerk and Ex -Of io Clerk of the Council of the City of Bakersfield.
