HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 48-46RESOLUTION NO 4 8 46 A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF B.AKERSFIELD, ORDERING THE VACATION OF POR- TIONS OF ELM, BEECH, MYRTLE, SPRUCE AND PINE STREETS, AND THE .ALLEY RUNNING EASTERLY AND WESTERLY THROUGH BLOCKS 415C TO AND INCLUDING BLOCK 417D, IN THE CITY OF B.AKERSFIELD. The Council of the City of Bakersfield, California, pur- suant to the provisions of the "Street Vacation .Act of 1941," being Division 9 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of Cali- fornia, does hereby resolve as follows: 1. That the public interest and convenience require, and it is hereby ordered that: (a) All that portion of Elm Street lying between the southerly line of 16th Street and the northerly line of the .Atchison Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Reservation, which line was formerly the northerly line of 15th Street. (b) All that portion of Beech Street lying between the Southerly line of 16th Street and the northerly line of the .Atchison Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Reservation, which line was formerly the.northerly line of 15th Street. (c) All that portion of Myrtle Street lying between the Southerly line of 16th Street and the northerly line of the Atchison Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Reservation, which line was formerly the northerly line of 15th Street. (d) All that portion of Spruce Street lying between the southerly line of 16th Street and the northerly line of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Reservation, which line was formerly the northerly line of 15th Street. (e) All that portion of Pine Street lying between the southerly line of 16th Street and the northerly line of the Atchison Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Reservation, which line was formerly the northerly line of 15th Street. (f) The alley running easterly and westerly through Blocks 4159 415D, 416C, 416D, 417C and 417D, in- cluding said alley across that portion of Poplar Street abandoned under Resolution of Intention No. 481 of the Council of the City of Bakersfield, California, and excluding that portion of the alley in Block 417C lying westerly of the easterly line of Oak Street as said easterly line of Oak Street was established by deed from the Kern County Land Company to the State of California and re- corded in Book 872 of Deeds at page 62, Records of Kern County, California. 1. All of the above- described property is as shown and delineated on Map of the City of Bakersfield recorded November 25, 1898, in Book 1 of Maps pages 13 and 14, Records of Kern County, California; be and the same are hereby closed up, vacated and abandoned for public street purposes, subject to and in conformity with Resolution of Intention No. 664, adopted by the Council of said City on the 9th day of December, 1946. Reference to said Resolution of Intention is hereby made for further particulars. 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this Resolution, and shall cause a certified copy of this Resolution, attested by the Clerk under the seal of the City, to be recorded in the office of the County Recorder of the County of Kern, California. ---- - - - - -- 000---- - - - - -- I BEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield, at a regular meeting thereof held on the sn ='day of (�, e� , 194 by the following vote: AYES: CARNAKI S.
