PREVAILING HATE OF NAGES TO BE P4ID IT THE TATTER OF " PUBLIC IMPROVEEENT DISTRICT NO. 675" IN THE CITY OF B4KIRSFIELD, CALIFORNIA. WHaREAS, the Council of the City of Bakersfield, California, did, on the lath day of 1.1arch, 19;50, adopt Resolution of Intention No. 675, for the construction of certain improvements in Public Improvement District Ho. 675, and MZREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the Labor Code of the State of California, it is necessary that the Council of the City of Bakersfield, California, ascertain and determile the general prevailing rate of wages on public works, and by the provisions of said Code make it mandatory upon the awarding body of any public contract where the said body subseguently calls for bids for any public improvement, to ascertain and determine the prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality in which the work is to be .per- formed, for each craft or type of workman or mechanic needed to execute the contract, and also the general prevailing rate for legal holiday and overtime work for each craft or type of workman. Positions not listed above will be allocated in accordance with the definitions which appear herein, as interpreted in the light of this classification. All foremen not herein separately classified shall be paid not less than 17 1/20 per hour more than journeymen rate for the craft involved. Sundays and holidays -- One and one-half (1-1/2) times the above rates, except as noted below. Overtime -- Carpenter - Double time for all. overtime. Cement Finishers - Time and one-half for first three hours after the regularly constituted straight time shift, and double time for all other overtime. Watchmen - Time and one-half for all time worked in excess of eight (3) hours per day and for the sixth consecutive day worked; and double time for the seventh consecutive day worked. Watchmen shall receive time and one-half for holidays, except when a holiday falls on the seventh consecutive day worked, which shall be double time. Laborers - Time and one half, except Sundays and holidays, which are double time. Operating Engineers - Time and one-half for all overtime except Sundays and holidays, which are double time. When operating engineers, during any one calendar day are working overtime on the same unit of project on which another craft is working overtime at double time the operating engineers on such unit of work shall be paid at the double time rate. Teamsters - Time and one-half for all overtime. -2- In accordance with the provisions of Section 1777.5 of the Labor Code, as amended by Chapter 971, Statutes of 1939, and in accordance with the regulations of the California .Apprenticeship Council, properly indentured apprentices may be employed in the prosecution of the work. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Engineer be and he is hereby instructed to change the prevailing rate of per diem wages as shown in "Specifications, Information to Bidders, Special Provisions, Bid Proposal and Contract for Public Improvement District No. 675, May 1949,"to reflect the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality as determined by this resolution. o Oo I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular meeting thereof held on the 3rd day of April, 1950, by the following vote: AYES: CARNAKIS, CROSS, KUEHN, MORELOCX, SHURLEY, SIEMON,VANDERLEI NOES:,._.. y _ ABSENT: [�..4 City 1 `and Ex-officio Clerk of the Council of the City of Bakersfield. .AP'-ROVED/ his d day of April, 1950 1(IIR of the City of Bakersfield. -3-
