A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE SUBMISSION
OF AN APPLICATION TO THE U.S.
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FEDERAL
AVIATION ADMINISTRATION FOR FUNDING
FOR THREE SPECIFIC IMPROVEMENT
PROJECTS AT THE BAKERSFIELD MUNICIPAL
AIRPORT UNDER AIRPORT IMPROVEMENT
PROGRAM PROJECT NO. 3-06- 0323 -016-
2012 AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE
ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, the City of Bakersfield wishes to apply for and receive an
allocation of funds through the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal
Aviation Administration (FAA); and
WHEREAS, the Tentative Allocation letter from the FAA (attached hereto
as Exhibit "A" and incorporated herein) advises that funding is tentatively
available for three specific improvement projects at the Bakersfield Municipal
Airport pursuant to Airport Improvement Program (AIP) Project No. 3- 06 -0323-
016 -2012; and
WHEREAS, FAA funds will provide 90% of funding for project costs with
general aviation funds providing the 10% local match requirement; and
WHEREAS, this allocation of federal funds is the first step leading to the
issuance of a grant offer; and
WHEREAS, grant funds will be used for the following three improvement
projects at the Bakersfield Municipal Airport:
1. Design and construction of the southwest hangar
taxilane phase 2 access road and replacement
of rotating beacon;
2. Design and engineering for Runway 16 -34 and
taxilane "A" rehabilitation; and
3. 3. Develop an airport pavement management
system; and

WHEREAS, although the initial estimate of the FAA portion of the grant for
all three projects totals $340,000, the $340,000 estimate may need to be revised
as design work commences on the projects.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
1. The above recitals are true and correct and incorporated herein by
reference.
2. Authorizes the City Manager, or his designee, to accept grant funds
and execute the grant agreement or any other necessary documents with the
FAA for AIP Project No. 3 -06- 0323 - 016 -2012.

HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and
adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular meeting thereof

In response to the request of City Of Bakersfield, it is a pleasure to
advises you that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has allocated
$340,000.00 under fiscal year 2012 Airport Improvement Program (AIP) for
further development of Saker~sfi.eld MunIcipsl Airport.. This project,
designated AfP 3-06-0323-016-2012, is programmed only for the following
specific development:

,his allocation of federal funds is the first step leading to the issuance
of a grant offer. The issuance of a grant offer is contingent upon the
fact that all applicable federal requirements have been met.
