(661) 326-3775 CITY TO HOLD COMMUNITY MEETING TO DISCUSS AMENITY OPTIONS FOR PLANZ PARK
The City of Bakersfield will host a community meeting to present potential options for
replacement amenities at Planz Park on Thursday, September 13, 2012 in the South High
School cafeteria from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Ward 1 Councilmember Rudy Salas and
Ward 7 Councilmember Russell Johnson are scheduled to be in attendance, as well as
staff from various City departments. The existing swimming pool has been dormant
since late 2009 due to budget reductions and will require significant repairs to resume
operations. Neighborhood residents will have the opportunity to ask questions and
provide their input regarding the options to be discussed. The community feedback
received at the meeting will be presented to the City Council Community Services
Committee members at a subsequent meeting.
The presentation will include:
• The current status of amenities at Planz Park
• Concepts and options for replacement amenities at Planz Park
• Q&A/Feedback session for citizens to provide input to City staff for future
planning of amenities at the park.
