HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 107-12RESOLUTION NO. 10 7--t2 A RESOLUTION DETERMINING THAT 2 -5 YEAR OLD CHILDREN'S PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT CANNOT BE REASONABLY OBTAINED THROUGH THE USUAL BIDDING PROCEDURES AND AUTHORIZING THE FINANCE DIRECTOR TO DISPENSE WITH BIDDING THEREFOR AND DESIGN, PURCHASE AND INSTALL 2 -5 YEAR OLD CHILDREN'S PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT FROM DAVE BANG ASSOCIATES INC., NOT TO EXCEED $40,000.00. WHEREAS, CITY previously completed the installation of a 5 to 12 year old children's playground at Pin Oak Park; and WHEREAS, CITY desires the design, supply, and installation of an 2 -5 year old children's playground, which was not part of the original playground install; and WHEREAS, CITY desires an 2 to 5 year old children's playground to integrate with the existing 5 to 12 year old children's playground theme, color scheme, and compatibility with the original supplier and installer; and WHEREAS, CITY contacted the original supplier and installer, Dave Bang Associates, Inc., to design, supply and install the additional 2 to 5 year old children's playground; and WHEREAS, Dave Bang Associates Inc., is the only installer that can completely integrate the existing theme, color scheme, and compatibility of the 2- 5 year old children's playground to the existing 5 to 12 year old children's playground at Pin Oak Park; and WHEREAS, the 2 to 5 year old children's playground, to be provided by Dave Bang Associates Inc., will integrate with the existing theme, color scheme, and compatibility with the existing 5 to 12 year old children's playground at Pin Oak Park. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows: 1. The above recitals are true and correct and incorporated herein by reference. 2. The design, supply, and installation can only be reasonably obtained from Dave Bang Associates Inc., because of the need to successfully integrate o�0AKF9�� such work, supplies, equipment and materials into the existing playground at City in m V r O ORIGINAL -- Page 1 of 2 Pages -- the Hills Park. 3. The Finance Director is authorized to dispense with bidding in accordance with Section 3.20.060 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code. 4.
