A RESOLUTION ADOPTING A CITY POLICY TO CHANGE
THE CITY COUNCIL REGULARLY SCHEDULED MEETING
TIMES
WHEREAS, the Brown Act was enacted to ensure that all actions taken by
legislative bodies during a meeting are conducted openly and with the public's
participation; and
WHEREAS, the Brown Act requires that the City Council provide by
ordinance or resolution the time and place for holding regular meetings; and
WHEREAS, Bakersfield Municipal Code Section 2.04.010 allows the City
Council to annually set the time of the regular meetings of the city council by
resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
1. The above recitals are true and correct and are incorporated
herein by reference.
2. The regular meetings of the City Council for the remainder of the
2012 calendar year shall begin at 5:15 p.m.
3. The regular meetings of the City Council for the 2013 calendar year
shall be noticed for 3:30 p.m. and 5:15 p.m. The primary business at the 3:30
p.m. meeting will be closed session matters.
