ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS OF THE BAKERSFIELD
MUNICIPAL CODE WHICH REFERENCE UNIFORM
BUILDING CODE.
WHEREAS, the term "Uniform Building Code" is included in multiple sections
of the Bakersfield Municipal Code as adopted by the City; and
WHEREAS, the City of Bakersfield uses the California Building Code based
on the International Building Code; and
WHEREAS, to avoid confusion the City desires to eliminate references to
the Uniform Building Code and refer only to Building Code.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
SECTION 1.
The term "Building Code" shall replace the use of "Uniform Building Code"
in all sections of the Bakersfield Municipal Code.
SECTION 2.
This Ordinance shall be posted in accordance with the provisions of the
Bakersfield Municipal Code and shall become effective thirty (30) days from and
after the date of its passage.
