Beard Public Information Office (661) 326-3803 mbeard@bakersfieldpd.us For Immediate Release January 17, 2013 The Bakersfield Police Department is requesting the community’s assistance in identifying a suspect wanted for robbery. On Thursday, January 17, 2013, at approximately 5:02 p.m., Bakersfield Police Officers responded to the Citizens Business Bank, located at 1301 17th Street, for a report of a robbery that had just occurred. Upon arrival, officers learned the female suspect entered the bank, approached one of the teller windows and handed a bank teller a note demanding currency. The teller began to yell and the suspect fled the business through the west doors with no currency. The suspect, depicted in the attached video surveillance photograph, is described as a Black Female, in her 30s, 5'4" tall, 130 lbs., thin build, with black, straight, shoulder-length hair, wearing a tweed hat with a dark brown band around it and a small brim, large, dark brown, plastic sunglasses, a gray knit scarf, cream colored shirt with dark sleeves and dark colored pants. The suspect was holding a dark colored dual-strapped purse. Anyone with information regarding this case or the identity of the suspect is urged to call the Bakersfield Police Department at (661) 327-7111 or Detective William Toler at (661) 326-3857.
