HomeMy WebLinkAbout13_01_18 ABC Decoy operation BAKERSFIELD POLICE DEPARTMENT PRESS RELEASE Greg Williamson, Chief of Police Contact: Michaela Beard Public Information Office 661-326-3803 mbeard@bakersfieldpd.us For Immediate Release January 18, 2013 On January 15, 2013, the Bakersfield Police Department and the Kern County Sheriff’s Department Joint Vice Task Force conducted a minor decoy operation to suppress the sale of alcoholic beverages to minors at establishments licensed by the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control. During the operation, twenty-five (25) businesses with an ABC (off sale) license were visited. Ten (10) Citations were issued for violation of Business and Professions Code Section 22658(a) (Sell/Furnish Alcoholic Beverage to a Minor). Funding for this operation was provided by a grant from the California Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) through the Department’s Grant Assistance Program.
