The Bakersfield Police Department continues to actively investigate and
aggressively pursue crimes of identity theft and forgery.
In March of 2012, the Bakersfield Police Department began a major forgery
investigation in which numerous business surveillance videos were
reviewed and individuals interviewed. The investigation revealed the
suspect passed numerous forged checks using false names and bank
account information.
The Bakersfield Police Department’s Financial Crimes Detectives identified
the suspect as Natasha Thompson, 29. An arrest warrant was obtained for
Thompson for 52 counts of forgery and 13 counts of burglary.
On January 15, 2013, the Bakersfield Police Department’s Career Criminal
Apprehension Team located and arrested Thompson for the warrant.
