Beard Public Information Office 661-326-3803 mbeard@bakersfieldpd.us For Immediate Release ` February 4, 2013 The Bakersfield Police Department Critical Incident Review Board met and reviewed the facts and circumstances surrounding the officer involved shooting that occurred on January 1, 2013, at 720 Terrace Way. The Review Board concluded that the shots fired by Officers Isaac Aleman and Seann Woessner were within department policy and within state and federal guidelines. The Review Board consisted of Assistant Chief Lyle Martin, Captain Joseph Bianco, Captain Hajir Nuriddin, Captain Scott McDonald, and Captain Brian Clayton. Police Chief Greg Williamson reviewed the investigation and concurred with the Review Board’s findings. Officer Isaac Aleman and Officer Seann Woessner have been cleared to return to duty. Previous Release January 7, 2013 The Bakersfield Police Department is continuing to investigate the officer involved shooting, which occurred at 720 Terrace Way on January 1, 2013. Officers Isaac Aleman and Seann Woessner were the two Bakersfield Police Officers involved in the shooting. Officer Woessner has served as a police officer for six years. Officer Aleman is a five year veteran of the Bakersfield Police Department. Anyone with information regarding this case is urged to call the Bakersfield Police Department at (661) 327-7111. Previous Release January 1, 2013 On Tuesday, January 1, 2013, at approximately 12:05 a.m., the Bakersfield Police Department Communications Center started receiving calls of shots fired at 720 Terrace Way. Bakersfield Police Officers arrived on scene and canvassed the area for any subjects. As the officers were walking through the complex, they heard shots being fired. Officers then observed an adult male holding a rifle. Officers identified themselves as police officers and ordered the suspect to drop the rifle. The suspect refused and fled from them. A foot pursuit ensued, during which an officer involved shooting occurred. The suspect was struck and taken to a local hospital with major injuries. The suspect is currently in critical condition. A rifle was recovered. There were no police officers injured during the incident. Anyone with information regarding this case is urged to call the Bakersfield Police Department at (661) 327-7111.
