On Monday, January 28, 2013, the Bakersfield Police
Department/Sheriff’s Department Joint Vice Task Force (JVTF)
conducted a prostitution suppression operation in the area of
Union Avenue. A total of twenty-three (23) arrests were made for
prostitution related offenses.
This area, which includes residential neighborhoods and
businesses, is known to have a high rate of prostitution related
activity and has generated numerous complaints.
The Bakersfield Police Department is proactively responding to
the issue of prostitution activity through suppression operations.
