For Immediate Release February 9, 2013
The Bakersfield Police Department is asking for the community’s assistance in identifying two suspects
wanted for robbery and conspiracy.
On Wednesday, February 6, 2013, at approximately 7:25 p.m., the two suspects, depicted in the attached
video surveillance photographs, entered the Fastrip Food Store, located at 1640 South Chester Avenue.
The second suspect distracted the store employee, while the first suspect took merchandise and exited
the store without producing payment. The second suspect then exited the store, and a store employee
pursued the suspects, at which time the first suspect exhibited a firearm on his person. The store
employee, in fear for his life, fled from the suspects and headed back to the store.
The first suspect is described as a Hispanic male, in his 20s, 6’00” tall with a slim build, short black hair
and thin mustache. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweat shirt, dark jeans and armed with a
handgun.
The second suspect is described as a Hispanic male, in his 20s, 6’00” tall, with a heavy build and black
short hair. He was last seen wearing a blue baseball hat with a white “B” on the front, a blue and white
jacket with a star on the right hand side (possibly a Dallas Cowboys team logo), a blue and white plaid
button up shirt with a white t-shirt underneath and jeans.
Anyone with information regarding the identity of these suspects is urged to call the Bakersfield Police
Department at (661) 327-7111 or Detective Marcela Garcia at (661) 326-3511.
