For Immediate Release February 8, 2013
The City of Bakersfield Animal Control Division would like to invite the
community to a low cost rabies vaccination and licensing clinic for your pets.
On Saturday, February 9, 2013, from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., the City of
Bakersfield Animal Control Division will be offering low cost rabies vaccinations
and a licensing clinic with free microchips to all currently licensed dogs at
Jefferson Park, 801 Bernard Street. The cost is $10.00 for dogs without a current
license.
The electronic microchip effort is a program focused on reducing the number of
impounded animals entering the shelter system and is becoming the preferred form
of animal and owner identification.
The City of Bakersfield Animal Control Division’s goal is to lessen the possibility
of animals with microchips entering the shelter.
