A RESOLUTION DETERMINING THAT
ELECTRONIC SCOREBOARDS CANNOT BE
REASONABLY OBTAINED THROUGH THE USUAL
BIDDING PROCEDURES AND AUTHORIZING THE
FINANCE DIRECTOR TO DISPENSE WITH
BIDDING THEREFOR AND PURCHASE FOUR (4)
ELECTRONIC SCOREBOARDS FROM
DAKTRONICS, INC., NOT TO EXCEED $14,789.
WHEREAS, the City desires to purchase four (4) electronic scoreboards for the
Mesa Morin Sports Complex softball fields from Daktronics, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, Daktronics, Inc. scoreboards were designated as the only
approved scoreboards in the approved construction specifications for the Mesa
Morin Sports Complex; and
WHEREAS, the acquisition of the four (4) electronic scoreboards from
Daktronics, Inc. is critical to the design placement and other infrastructure
improvements of the Mesa Morin Sports Complex; and
WHEREAS, Daktronics, Inc.'s sales price for four (4) electronic scoreboards is
$14,789.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as
follows:
1. The above recitals are true and correct and incorporated herein by
reference.
2. The above - referenced electronic scoreboards can only be reasonably
obtained from one vendor (Daktronics, Inc.) due to construction specifications and
infrastructure improvements at the Mesa Morin Sports Complex.
3. The Finance Director is authorized to dispense with bidding in
accordance with Section 3.20.060 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code.
4. The expenditure of funds for such equipment shall not exceed $14,789.
