For Immediate Release April 12, 2013
The City of Bakersfield Animal Control Division would like to invite the
community to a low cost rabies vaccination, licensing and microchip clinic for
your pets.
On Saturday, April 13, 2013, from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., the City of
Bakersfield Animal Control Division will be offering rabies vaccinations and
licensing with the opportunity to get your pet implanted with a free microchip.
Microchips are free to currently licensed dogs only; a fee applies if the dog is not
licensed. The clinic will be at Westdale Park, 15400 Westdale Drive.
The rabies vaccination will be provided at a substantially lower cost; however, the
licensing fee is regular price. The microchip program is an effort focused on
reducing the number of animals entering the shelter system and is becoming the
preferred way to reunite pets with their owners.
