The Bakersfield Police Department made numerous arrests regarding a recent burglary investigation.
On Tuesday, April 9, 2013, Bakersfield Police Officers responded to a call of a stolen vehicle being followed. Upon
arrival, officers learned the stolen vehicle was taken during a residential burglary, which occurred on the previous day.
During the residential burglary on Monday, numerous firearms were stolen, in addition to jewelry and electronic devices.
The investigation revealed the driver of the stolen vehicle, Paul Dillard, 36, was involved in Monday’s burglary. Further
evidence led officers to an additional suspect, Joseph Etcheverry, 33. When officers attempted to contact Etcheverry by
conducting a traffic stop on his vehicle, he failed to yield to officers and led them on a pursuit. The pursuit ended when
Etcheverry’s vehicle became disabled near Brundage Lane and Oleander Avenue. At first, Etcheverry refused to comply
with officers demands; however, he eventually surrendered. Officers located numerous firearms in the vehicle, associated
with the previous day’s residential burglary.
Search warrants led officers to recovery of numerous items of value, believed to be items stolen during the residential
burglary which occurred on Monday. The photos display the numerous firearms recovered during the investigation.
Joseph Etcheverry was arrested for felony evading, possession of stolen property, numerous weapons violations and a
parole violation. Paul Dillard was arrested for residential burglary, conspiracy, driving a stolen vehicle, possession of a
stolen vehicle, possession of stolen property, numerous weapons violations and a burglary warrant. Stephanie Burnside,
34, was arrested for residential burglary and conspiracy. Alexandria Rebske, 23, was arrested for a felony narcotics
warrant. Deborah Taylor, 53, was arrested for a burglary warrant.
