On Friday, April 19, 2013, the Bakersfield Police Department celebrated the
accomplishments of all Bakersfield Police Department Dispatchers and the 2012
Bakersfield Police Department Dispatcher of the Year, Brandy Watts, in a ceremony
and luncheon held at the Bakersfield Police Department. Watts was nominated by the
Communications Center supervisors and received the award from the Bakersfield Police
Department.
The Bakersfield Police Department hired Watts as a Police Dispatcher I in December
2000. In 2005, she promoted to Police Dispatcher II.
It is said that Watts “is a dedicated and conscientious employee. She is courteous and
considerate with the public as well as fellow employees. She approaches each call with
enthusiasm and excitement, ensuring the callers feel heard and understood.”
Watts is said to have a “positive outlook and unique sense of humor” which help
encourage a positive environment. The Bakersfield Police Department truly is a better
place because of Watt’s hard work and enthusiasm.
