For Immediate Release April 19, 2013
On Friday, April 19, 2013, at approximately 1:33 p.m., the Bakersfield
Police Department received a call of a suspicious object at the Kern County
Department of Human Services, located at 100 East California Avenue.
An employee of the Kern County Department of Human Services located a
suspicious object inside the front doors of the business and contacted the
Bakersfield Police Department.
The Bakersfield Police Department Bomb Squad arrived on scene and
determined it was a suspicious object. The suspicious object has been
rendered safe.
The investigation is ongoing.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact the
Bakersfield Police Department at 327-7111.
