For Immediate Release April 29, 2013
On Monday, April 29, 2013, at approximately 9:15 a.m., the Bakersfield
Police Department responded to an injury traffic collision at 9th Street at
Union Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers learned Charlotte Gonzales, 51, was driving a gray
G.M.C. (General Motors Company) Terrain northbound in the 800 block of
Union Avenue. An unidentified adult male pedestrian was crossing Union
Avenue when he was struck by the vehicle. He was transported to a local
hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
There is nothing to indicate Gonzales was under the influence of drugs or
alcohol. Gonzales was uninjured and was released from the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
