For Immediate Release May 8, 2013
On Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at approximately 11:28 a.m., Bakersfield
Police Motorcycle Officer, Christopher Bagby, was travelling westbound on
Brundage Lane when an adult female, identified as Helen Rose, 62, was
travelling in a vehicle eastbound on Brundage Lane. As they both
approached the intersection of Brundage Lane and Cedar Street, Rose
attempted to make a left turn onto Cedar Street, directly into the path of
Officer Bagby.
Officer Bagby took evasive action, turning his motorcycle so it did not strike

to a stop without coming into contact with Rose’s vehicle.
Officer Bagby was transported to a local hospital for minor to moderate
injuries.
