For Immediate Release May 3, 2013
The City of Bakersfield Animal Control Division would like to invite the
community to a low cost rabies vaccination, licensing and microchip clinic
for their pets.
On Saturday, May 11, 2013, from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., the City of
Bakersfield Animal Control Division will be offering low cost rabies
vaccinations and licensing for city residents’ pets. Individuals will also have
the opportunity to have their pet implanted with a FREE microchip, if their
dog is currently licensed. The clinic will be at Heritage Park, 2320 Mount
Vernon Avenue.
The microchip program is an effort focused on reducing the number of
animals entering the shelter system. Typically, micro chipped pets are not
taken to the shelter, but instead are returned home.
