For Immediate Release June 4, 2013
The Bakersfield Police Department is asking for the community’s
assistance in locating a suspect wanted for attempted kidnapping and
annoying a child.
On June 1, 2013 at approximately 2:50 p.m., a female juvenile was riding
her bicycle eastbound in the 4800 block of Baybrook Way when she
noticed a vehicle following her. As the vehicle approached her, the suspect
asked her to climb in the vehicle and go for a ride. The suspect reached
out the driver’s side window and attempted to grab the victim’s hand. As
the victim rode faster to flee, the suspect also sped up, still attempting to
grab her hand. The victim was able to hide from the suspect, at which
point the suspect fled in an unknown direction.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, in his 20s, with a stocky
build and short brown spiked hair. He was last seen wearing a light
brown t-shirt.
The suspect vehicle is described as a dark, navy blue, older model, four
door vehicle with scratches on the driver’s side door.
