The Secret Witness Program is offering a reward of up to $5,000.00 for information leading to the arrest and filing of a complaint of the suspect, depicted in the attached video surveillance photographs. The suspect is wanted for one count of attempt robbery and two counts of robbery which occurred on Tuesday May 28, 2013, and Friday, June 7, 2013. The suspect vehicle is described as a 1995-2000, black, 4 door Honda Accord. Anyone with information regarding the identity of this suspect is urged to contact the Bakersfield Police Department at (661) 327-7111, Detective Brian Kennemer at (661) 326-3511 or Secret Witness line at (661) 322-4040. The Secret Witness phone line operates 24 hours a day. Secrecy is guaranteed to those who call. Callers will be asked to select a code name and code number when they provide information to Secret Witness. Should additional contact with the caller be necessary, the code name will be published along with a request for the original caller to establish contact. Once contact is made, the caller will be asked to provide their original code number for verification purposes. The same steps will be taken to pay a reward to the caller. Secret Witness is operated under the direction of an independent, voluntary board of directors representing civic organizations, law enforcement agencies, media outlets, and corporate sponsors. Previous Release June 7, 2013 On Friday, June 7, 2013, at approximately 4:59 p.m., Bakersfield Police Officers were dispatched to a robbery alarm at the Kern Schools Federal Credit Union, located at 4530 Ming Avenue. When officers arrived, they learned the suspect, depicted in the attached video surveillance photographs, entered the business and handed a teller a note demanding currency. 13-114883 The teller complied and the suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of currency. The suspect is described as a Black male, in his 20s, wearing a red, white and black fitted baseball hat, white dress shirt and dark pants. Previous Release May 28, 2013 The Bakersfield Police Department is investigating two robberies, believed to be related. On Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at approximately 2:55 p.m., the Bakersfield Police Department received a call of a robbery alarm at the Safe 1 Credit Union, located at 400 Oak Street. Upon arrival, officers learned the suspect entered the business and approached the teller window. The suspect then passed the teller a note which indicated he had a bomb and demanded currency. The teller activated the silent alarm and the suspect fled the business with no currency. The suspect was last seen fleeing westbound onto the embankment of Highway 99 at Palm Street. When officers arrived on scene, they did an extensive search of the business and did not locate a bomb. Later today, at approximately 4:20 p.m., the Bakersfield Police Department received a call of a robbery alarm at the Kern Schools Federal Credit Union located at 2424 Chester Avenue, When officers arrived, they learned the suspect entered the business, approached a teller window and slid a note that demanded currency. The teller complied and the suspect fled the business with an undisclosed amount of currency northbound on Chester and eastbound on 25th street. The suspect, believed to be responsible for both robberies and depicted in the attached video surveillance photographs, is described as a Black male, in his 20s, 5’07” to 5'08" tall with a slim build, approximately 130 lbs. to 145 lbs., wearing a black baseball hat, sunglasses, black Pea Coat and blue distressed jeans. No one was injured during either robbery.
