On Sunday June 16, 2013, at 10:50 p.m., Bakersfield Police Officers responded to the
Lucky 7 Market, located at 3232 Stine Road, regarding a peace disturbance and fight in
the parking lot with shots fired. Officers arrived on scene and discovered that a victim
had been shot during the disturbance and was down in the parking lot suffering from a
major gunshot wound.
The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle but was stopped a short distance away and
arrested. The firearm used was recovered inside the suspect vehicle.
The suspect, Eric Elizagoyen, 22, of Bakersfield, was booked into the Kern County Jail
for attempted homicide.
The adult male victim was transported to a local hospital and is listed in critical
condition.
