The Bakersfield Police Department is asking for the community’s assistance in
identifying a suspect wanted for sexual battery.
On June 24, 2013, at approximately 9:10 a.m., the victim and her young child exited the
Walmart, located at 2601 Fashion Place, followed by the suspect, depicted in the
attached video surveillance photograph. The suspect approached the victim as she
placed her child in the vehicle, asking for money, to which she refused. The suspect
then touched the victim inappropriately. The victim attempted to defend herself;
however, the suspect struck the victim in the face before he fled the area on foot.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male with a dark complexion, 32 to 40 years of
age, 5’4” tall, 215 lbs., with short brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing
a brown and white checkered shirt and unknown colored shorts.
