While staff still needs to check all of the data, the apparent low bidder is about $6.4 million below the budget and engineers estimate. The savings will roll over to reduce borrowing for the State Route 178 Widening Project! Granite Construction is the apparent low bidder. We expect this to be on the July 17th meeting for bid award.  Two much-anticipated ribbon cuttings have been scheduled. Mark your calendars for Wednesday, July 10th at 10:00 a.m. for the unveiling of the Mill House, and Friday, July 12th at 1:30 p.m. for the grand opening of the Siemon Spray Park. Miscellaneous News  As of Monday, July 1st, AEG will officially take over management of the Rabobank Arena, Theater, and Convention Center, San Joaquin Community Ice Center, and the Bright House Networks Amphitheatre. We have been working with them during the past few months to effect a smooth transition and are eager to begin our new partnership!  As a reminder, I am out of the office until Friday, July 12th. Assistant to the City Manager, Steven Teglia is in charge during this time; and, as always, my staff will have the means to contact me should the need arise. The gates open at 5:00 p.m., and the festivities begin at 6:00 p.m. The FREE event will feature live music, food and activities for the entire family. Then, at roughly 9:15 p.m., it will conclude with fireworks, thanks to the sponsorship of Dignity Health.
