On June 17, 2013, at approximately 4:56 p.m., the suspect approached a home in the 5100 block of Challenger Avenue and rang the doorbell. The teenage juvenile victim answered the door and the suspect, depicted in the attached computer generated composite, introduced himself, hugged the victim and smelled the victim’s hair. The suspect attempted to kiss the victim, before she was able to pull away. The suspect fled on foot. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, in his late 30s to early 40s, 5’03” tall, with a heavy build, short brown hair and a mustache. He is described as English speaking with a strong Spanish accent, and was last seen wearing a light blue shirt and unknown colored pants. The Bakersfield Police Department wants to remind the community not to answer the door to anyone you do not know. Instead speak through the door and let the individual know you are not interested, nor expecting visitors. If the individual continues to persist, call 911. Anyone with information regarding this suspect is urged to call the Bakersfield Police Department at (661) 327-7111 or Detective Jeremy Blakemore at (661) 326-3557.
