The Bakersfield Police Department has made an arrest for a stabbing
yesterday afternoon.
On July 2, 2013, at approximately 5:25 p.m., Bakersfield Police Officers
responded to Guthrie’s Alley Cat, located at 1525 Wall Street, for a victim
of a stabbing. When officers arrived, they located the victim inside the
business with moderate to major injuries.
Preliminary investigation revealed the suspect and victim were involved in a
physical altercation inside the business. The suspect fled the business, but
returned a short time later. The suspect then stabbed the victim numerous
times, and fled the scene.
The investigation led to the identification of the suspect, Antonio Saldana,
46. Saldana was arrested and booked into the Kern County Jail for
attempted murder.
