The meeting was called to order by Chairman, Mike Strong at 8:00 a.m.

III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Mr. Vetter made a motion to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of
01/06/16; seconded by Mr. Strong. The motion was carried unanimously.

A. Review of Special Orders

B. Certification of Secretary I • Police Eligibility List, Examination
#00882
Caryn Claiborne submitted an eligibility list of 5 candidates for
certification with a tie at number three. Human Resources expressed
their appreciation to police department staff and oral board raters for
their assistance.
Mr. Anderson made a motion to certify the Secretary I Eligibility List,
Examination #00882; seconded by Mr. Vetter. The motion was carried
unanimously.
C. Nepotism Waiver Request for Secretary I Candidate(s)
Caryn Claiborne submitted two nepotism waiver requests for Secretary I
Candidates Katherine Dye and Adriana Barba. Nepotism Ruling
Reports were reviewed and recommended by Assistant Chief Lyle
Martin.
Mr. Vetter made a motion to approve the nepotism waiver requests for
Dye and Barba; seconded by Mr. Anderson. The motion was carried
unanimously.
D. Nepotism Waiver Request from Police Officer Jessica Villarreal and
Police Officer Edgar Galdamez
Isabel Farmer submitted a nepotism waiver request from Police Officer
Jessica Villarreal and Police Officer Edgar Galdamez to live in the same
household. The Nepotism Ruling Report was reviewed and
recommended by Assistant Chief Lyle Martin.
Mr. Anderson made a motion to approve the nepotism waiver request;
seconded by Mr. Vetter. The motion was carried unanimously.
E. Selection of Dates for Personnel Appeal Hearing
Richard Iger advised the appeal hearing scheduled for the week of
February 21st has been rescheduled until May 2, 2016. Iger requested
approval for the May 2nd hearing date.
Mr. Vetter made a motion to approve the appeal hearing date of May 2,
2016; seconded by Mr. Anderson. The motion was carried unanimously.
