The meeting was called to order by Secretary Mike Payne at 8:06 a.m.

A motion was made by Mr. Lucas, seconded by Mr. Payne and was carried

a. REVIEW OF SPECIAL ORDERS APPOINTMENTS, PROMOTIONS, RETIREMENTS AND
ITEM
RESIGNATIONS OF POLICE DEPARTMENT PERSONNEL- Mr. Lucas noted
promotions and offered his congratulations.

b. ELECTION OF OFFICERS - A motion was made by Mr. Lucas, seconded by Mr.
ANDERSON
Payne to defer election of new officers until the next Regular Civil Service

C. CERTIFICATION OF POLICE DISPATCHER I ELIGIBILITY LIST, EXAMINATION #01153- :
APPROVED -
Shoyla Collins submitted Police Dispatcher Eligibility List, Examination #01153, to
ANDERSON
ABSENT
the Commission for review and approval for certification of 20 candidates,
with ties for candidates #6 and # 17. Mr. Lucas made a motion to approve
Police Dispatcher Eligibility List, Examination #01153; the motion was seconded
by Mr. Payne and carried unanimously.
d. NEPOTISM WAIVER REQUEST FOR OF POLICE DISPATCHER CANDIDATE(S)-Shayla
APPROVED -
Collins advised as a result of the Police Dispatcher Eligibility List, she Is
ANDERSON
ABSENT
submitting two Nepotism Waiver Requests to the Commission for review and
approval for Javier Barrientos and Sydney Youngblood. She advised the
Nepotism Waiver Requests were reviewed by Assistant Chief Evan Demestlhas,
and he recommends approval. Mr. Lucas made a motion to approve the
Nepotism waivers; the motion was seconded by Mr. Payne.
e. INFORMATIONAL ITEM: PARKING ENFORCEMENT TECHNICIAN RECRUITMENT
INFORMATIONAL
#01165 - Isabel Farmer advised the recruitment for Parking Enforcement
ITEM
Technician will be open from March 7 - 21, 2019. The written examination is
scheduled for April 11, 2019, oral examinations on April 22 and 23, 2019 and the
eligibilty list will be brought to the May Police Civil Service meeting for
certification.
