A summary of the duties and responsibilities for the position of Parking Enforcement Technician is as follows: Under general supervision performs office and field work involving the enforcement of appropriate codes, laws, regulation and validation programs pertaining to on -street and off-street parking within the City of Bakersfield. Writes and issues parking citations, responds to complaints and inquires. This is an unarmed, non - sworn employee, who will perform work of average difficulty involving specific phases of traffic enforcement on an assigned shift and performs other work as required. EMPLOYMENT OVERLAP According to the Public Works Director, Nick Fidler, if Benjamin Samano is appointed to a Trades Maintenance Worker position in the General Services Division of the Public Works Department, performance appraisals would not be reviewed or conducted by either employee for the other; neither employee would be directly supervised by the other; and they would not report to each other within the chain of command as they would be assigned to different departments. A summary of the duties and responsibilities for the position of Geographic Information Systems Analyst is as follows: Under general direction, assists in the development and maintenance of all facets of a City-wide Geographic Information System (GIS); acts as a project leader for GIS assignments; performs high level spatial analytical work; develops, writes, tests, and implements GIS software; performs complex database manipulation; develops and maintains City base map and associated layers; assists in the training of GIS staff and users; and performs other work as required. Due to the possibility of Sarah being considered for the Accounting Clerk 1/II position, the issue of nepotism must be addressed and reviewed prior to appointment. The following information has been compiled for your review and determination of whether nepotism creates an adverse impact on supervision, safety, security or morale. SUMMARY OF DUTIES A summary of the duties and responsibilities for the position of Accounting Clerk 1/II is as follows: Accounting Clerk I: Under supervision, coordinates and performs duties related to preparing, processing, maintaining and checking financial, statistical or fiscal records; performs related work as required. Accounting Clerk II: Under general supervision, incumbents perform the full range of assigned duties. Adequate performance at this level requires a general knowledge of the functions pertaining to are of assignment. Incumbents solve routing problems based on knowledge gained through experience. A summary of the duties and responsibilities for the position of Facility Worker are as follows: Under direct supervision, performs routine and semi -skilled manual work of limited difficulty in the maintenance and improvement of: municipal parks and streetscapes including grounds and City buildings, solid waste, recycling or related areas. Performs a wide variety of manual work related to general maintenance activities. Employees in this class are not required to drive commercial vehicles. Performs other work as required. EMPLOYMENT OVERLAP If Sarah Gilani is appointed as an Accounting Clerk 1/II, in any division/department other than the Parks Division of the Recreation and Parks Department there would be no potential for creating an adverse impact on supervision, safety, security or morale, or involve a significant potential for conflict of interest. Performance appraisals would not be reviewed or conducted by either employee for the other, neither employee would be directly supervised by the other and they would not report to each other within the chain of command as they would be assigned to different divisions/departments. Licenses Certificates and Special Requirements: • Possession of a valid Class "A" California driver's license (with airbrake and tanker endorsements), as required by law for equipment used.
