The meeting was called to order by Mr. Lucas a18:00 a.m.

4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES APPROVED
A motion was made by Mr. Anderson,seconded by Ms.Thompson and carried
unanimously to approve minutes for Special Meeting of December 18, 2019.
5. NEW BUSINESS L
ACTION TAKEN
a. ELECTION OF OFFICERS APPROVED
Steve Anderson -Chairman
Kathleen Thompson -Secretary
Kelly Lucas-Board Member
Ms.Thompson made a motion to approve Mr. Anderson as Chairman; the
motion was seconded by Mr. Lucas, Mr. Anderson made a motion to approve
Ms.Thompson as Secretary; the motion was seconded by Mr. Lucas, and
carried. The gavel was turned over to Mr. Anderson.
b. CERTIFICATION OF POLICE LIEUTENANT ELIGIBILITY LIST, EXAMINATION#01290- APPROVED
Tracy Sunkes submitted Police Lieutenant Eligibility List #01290, to the
Commission for review and approval for certification of four candidates with a
tie for Rank #1. Mr. Lucas made a motion to approve Police Lieutenant
Eligibility List #01290; the motion was seconded by Ms.Thompson and carried
unanimously.
C. NEPOTISM WAIVER REQUEST FOR POLICE LIEUTENANT CANDIDATE(S)-Tracy APPROVED
Sunkes advised that as a result of the Police Lieutenant Eligibility List,she is
submitting one Nepotism Waiver Request to the Commission for review and
approval for Marcelo Haskins. Tracy Sunkes advised the Nepotism Waiver
Request was reviewed by Assistant Chief Joe Mullins and he recommends
approval. Mr. Lucas made a motion to approve the Nepotism Waiver for
Police Lieutenant;the motion was seconded by Ms.Thompson and carried
unanimously.
d. CERTIFICATION OF ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT 1/11- POLICE, EXAMINATION APPROVED
#01286-Sandra Duncan submitted Administrative Assistant 1/11-Police, Eligibility
List #01286, to the Commission for review and approval for certification of four
candidates. She advised 16 applications were submitted. Mr. Lucas made a
motion to approve Administrative Assistant 1/11-Police, Eligibility List #01286; the
motion was seconded by Ms. Thompson and carried unanimously.
e. NEPOTISM WAIVER REQUEST(S) FOR ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT 1/11-POLICE APPROVED
CANDIDATE(S)-Sandra Duncan advised that as a result of the Administrative
Assistant I/11-Police Eligibility List, she is submitting one Nepotism Waiver Request
to the Commission for review and approval for Paula Kitchen.Sondra Duncan
advised the Nepotism Waiver Request was reviewed by Interim Chief Greg Terry
and he recommends approval. Mr. Lucas made a motion to approve the
Nepotism Waiver for Administrative Assistant 1/11-Police;the motion was
seconded by Ms.Thompson and carried unanimously.
6. COMMISSIONER COMMENTS
Mr. Anderson expressed his appreciation to Mr. Lucas for serving as the Chairman to
the Commission during 2019. Mr. Lucas advised he attended the graduation of the
Police Officer Basic Course Academy and said the ceremony was very well done. He
expressed his appreciation to Academy staff for their professionalism and offered his
congratulations to the graduates.
7. ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8.12 a.m.
