PUBLIC STATEMENTS . None 4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES A motion was made by Mr. Lucas, seconded by Ms. Thompson and carried unanimously to approve the minutes for the Special Meeting of July 14, 2020. 5. NEW BUSINESS a. JOB SPECIFICATION REVISION -SENIOR POLICE OFFICER 41270 - Shayla Woods -Collins presented the Commission revised job specifications for Senior Police Officer. The Training and Experience section was updated. A revision was 1 `POLICE n, ACTION TAKEN APPROVED APPROVED made in the language to clarify the requirement of three (3) years of experience as a sworn officer of the Bakersfield Police Department. An equivalency was added to the education requirement which includes the following language, "OR Two (2) additional years of experience (for a total of 5 years) as a sworn Police Officer of the Bakersfield Police Department may be substituted for the education." Ms. Thompson made a motion to approve the Job Specification Revision - Senior Police, Officer 41270 (with a correction to the job number listed on the Agenda); the motion was seconded by Mr. Lucas and carried unanimously. b. CERTIFICATION OF POLICE LIEUTENANT ELIGIBLE LIST, EXAMINATION #01345 - Sandra Duncan submitted Police Lieutenant Eligibility List #01345 to the Commission for review and certification of 4 candidates. Mr. Lucas made a motion to approve Police Lieutenant Eligibility List #01345; the motion was seconded by Ms. Thompson and carried unanimously. c. CERTIFICATION OF POLICE SERGEANT ELIGIBLE LIST, EXAMINATION # 01351 - Sandra Duncan submitted Police Sergeant Eligibility List #01351 to the Commission for review and certification of 10 candidates. Mr. Lucas made a motion to approve Police Sergeant Eligibility List #01351; the motion was seconded by Ms. Thompson and carried unanimously. d. NEPOTISTM WAIVER REQUEST(S) FOR POLICE SERGEANT CANDIDATE(S) - Sandra Duncan advised that as a result of the Police Sergeant Eligibility List, she is submitting one Nepotism Waiver Request to the Commission for review and approval for candidate Lukious Sims. Ms. Duncan advised the Nepotism Waiver Request was reviewed by Assistant Chief Mike Hale and he recommends approval. Mr. Lucas made a motion to approve the Nepotism Waiver for Police Sergeant Candidate Lukious Sims; the motion was seconded by Ms. Thompson and carried unanimously. e. CERTIFICATION OF SECRETARY I - POLICE ELIGIBLE LIST, EXAMINATION #0.1350 - Tracy Sunkes submitted Secretary I - Police, Eligibility List #01350 to the Commission for review and certification of 5 candidates. Mr. Lucas made a motion to approve Secretary I - Police Eligibility List #013501; the motion was seconded by Ms. Thompson and carried unanimously. NEPOTISTM WAIVER REQUEST FOR SECRETARY I - POLICE CANDIDATE(S) -Tracy Sunkes advised that as a result of the Secretary I - Police Eligibility List, she is submitting one Nepotism Waiver Request to the Commission for review and approval for candidate Linda Alonso. Ms. Sunkes advised the Nepotism Waiver Request was reviewed by Assistant Chief Mike Hale and he recommends approval. Mr. Lucas made a motion to approve the Nepotism Waiver for Secretary I - Police Candidate Linda Alonso; the motion was seconded by Ms. Thompson and carried unanimously. g. CERTIFICATION OF POLICE TRAINEE ELIGIBLE LIST, EXAMINATION #01339 - Tracy Sunkes submitted Police Trainee, Eligibility List #01339 to the Commission for review and certification of 138 candidates. Ms. Sunkes advised the commissioners there were multiple ties on the list. She also advised that 178 candidates participated in the oral evaluation which consisted of 2 panels. Mr. Lucas made a motion to approve Police Trainee, Eligibility List #01339; the motion was seconded by Ms. Thompson and carried unanimously. 2 ACTION TAKEN APPROVED APPROVED APPROVED APPROVED APPROVED APPROVED h. NEPOTISTM WAIVER REQUEST(S) FOR POLICE TRAINEE CANDIDATE(S) - Tracy Sunkes advised that as a result of the Police Trainee Eligibility List, she is submitting 12 Nepotism Waiver Requests to the Commission for review and approval for Police Trainee candidates Chad Adams, Isaak Beltran, Jonathan Carter, Brandon Cassady, Charles Austin, Michael S.J. Garcia, Anthony Hannah, Emilio Hernandez, Brendan Martinez, Kevin Mello, Erik Salazar and Aubreyanne Syres. Ms. Sunkes advised the Nepotism Waiver Requests were reviewed by Assistant Chief Mike Hale and he recommends approval. Mr. Lucas made a motion to approve the Nepotism Waivers for Police Trainee Candidates; the motion was seconded by Ms. Thompson and carried unanimously. 6. COMMISSIONER COMMENTS No Comments 7.
