Vote to Name Event: 20th Anniversary Celebration & Awards Luncheon Potential names: The Mayor's 20th Anniversary Keep Bakersfield Beautiful Luncheon (KBBC needs approval from Mayor Goh before using her name and title) ii. Luncheon Program Final Draft Deadline, Tuesday, March 1, 2022 3. Marketing a. Save the Date emails were sent out in October 2021. Email blasts for Sponsorship levels were sent out today. b. All information regarding sponsor levels and benefits is on the KBBC website. KBBC members are encouraged to send out information regarding the event on their personal social media platforms to spread the word. c. Banners Banners will be placed at the park for the event. An idea is to use West High School to create banners and posters for the event. The high school has experience doing this as an in -kind donation. Task. Paul Yanez will send out a digital copy of the sponsorship levels to all the KBBC Members today. Task. Jessica Felix and Brooks Douglass will meet about the first week of January about in -kind digital billboard opportunities. 4. Budgets & Joint Fundraising for the Anniversary & Great American Cleanup (GAC) • Luncheon venue is going to be around $2,000. • May Goh wants it to be a plated lunch. • Ray Scott met with arena staff regarding the cost of each plate for the luncheon. Each plate is going to cost between $30.00 to $35.00. o Max attendance (250) X $35.00 per plate comes out to $8,750.00. o Ray Scott said he could get the linens included and possibly a donation of the anniversary table toppers. a. Vote to approve sponsor proposal package (handout) i. Jessica Felix created a form that Sponsors can send in with their checks that Mayor Goh has reviewed. If approved by KBBC, it can be turned into a fillable form and put on the website. Discuss ticket sales to attend April 6, 2022, event, e.g., pricing, sales period, and method i. Jessica Felix talked to Finance and Police. There is no protocol in place to sell tickets. ii. Police suggested a donation amount for a ticket. Task. Brianna Carrier will investigate the option of selling tickets and get back to KBBC. B. Saturday, April 30, 2022: 19th Annual GAC — Paul Yanez 1. 12 PM Tues., Dec. 14, 2021: Meeting in City Hall —South, Caucus Room a. GAC sponsors contact info is on a spreadsheet in Google sheets. KBBC can use the spreadsheet to notate who they will contact. Task: Paul Yanez will send out the PDF version of the GAC Sponsor Spreadsheet to KBBC. C. Recap Thursday, Dec. 2, 2021: Bakersfield 39th Christmas Parade — Paul Yanez 1. Overall great night and turn out. This was the first time KBBC was in the parade as a standalone. Jessica Felix showed KBBC the pictures from the Christmas parade. D. Special Projects and Programs Funding Update — Paul Yanez and Jessica Felix 1. Jessica Felix went over the KBBC the budget. Community garden money is running low. California Water Service will donate toward water and GAC again. E. Vote to Schedule KBBC Special Meeting for 8 AM —12 PM on Sat., Jan. 8, 2022, at Bakersfield Racquet Club, 1660 Pine St. or Sat., Jan. 22 at Worklogic HR, 5016 California Ave. — Paul Yanez Motion to change the KBBC Special Meeting from Saturday January 8, 2022, to Saturday January 22, 2022: Brooks Douglass Second: John Enriquez Motion: unanimously approved 1. Recommend KBBC to think about potential candidates and decision will be made at the KBBC Regular Meeting on January 14, 2022. 2. KBBC Vacancy(s) a. Currently 2 vacancies (Ward 1 and Ward 5 Alternate). If you know anyone who is interested, please spread the word about the application process that the City Clerk will likely open in early 2022. Approval of Written Reports — Paul Yanez 1. Beautification and Community Improvement Subcommittee November Report: Monica Cater a. Trash bins for GET Bus were signed off and picked up. They have not been installed. Zachariah Garcia will continue to follow up on this. 2. Graffiti Abatement Subcommittee November Report: Monica Cater a. Next step with the utility murals for the Chester Ave. corridor project is to meet with the Virginia and Alfred Harrell Foundation. A meeting in January 2022 has been requested to fund the murals in 2022. b. Monica Cater spoke to artist Morgan Townsend. KBBC had previously assigned her a utility box for a mural in that section of Chester Ave., but the timing of the project didn't work out. Monica let Morgan know that the scope of the project has changed and that she is welcome to apply to be the artist again. c. Vote to select utility box muralist for 19th & M St. Motion to approve the first artist proposal depicting camellias for the utility box at the intersection of 191h and M Streets: Brooks Douglas Second: Theresa Olson Motion: unanimously approved 3. Litter Subcommittee November Report: John Enriquez a. The World Mission Society Church of God scheduled a volunteer cleanup on December 26, 2021, to clean around the Bakersfield entry sign to include adding bark around the sign, clean weeds around the trees, and plant 8 trees. 4. Waste Reduction & Recycling Subcommittee November Report: Ray Scott - Deferred Motion to approve the Beautification and Community Improvement Subcommittee, Graffiti Abatement Subcommittee, and Litter Subcommittee Reports: Brooks Douglas Second: Monica Cater Motion: unanimously approved V. Staff Comments • Jessica Felix: Wished everyone a merry Christmas and thanked everyone for what they do. She's personally involved with the Adopt -A -Park program of Recreation and Parks. There will be cleanups held two times a month.
