ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 17.64.080 OF THE
BAKERSFIELD MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO TITLE 17 TEXT
AMENDMENTS - HEARING - DECISION.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows:
SECTION 1.
Section 17.64.080 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code is hereby amended to
read as follows:
17.64.080 Title 17 Text amendments - Hearing - Decision.
A. Any text amendments codified herein to Chapter 17 shall require a public
hearing conducted by the planning commission or city council, notice of which
shall be given as set forth in subsection C of Section 17.64.050.
B. The planning commission or city council shall either approve and recommend
the enactment of the amendment as proposed or as altered, or shall disapprove
the amendment. Any final text amendments to Title 17 shall be presented to city
council for final action.
C. Any text amendment to Title 17 enacted into ordinance by city council, shall
be done in accordance with its normal procedure. The action of the council shall
be final.
SECTION 2.
This Ordinance shall be posted in accordance with the provisions of the
Bakersfield Municipal Code and shall become effective thirty (30) days from and
after the date of its passage.
