RESOLUTION OF THE KERN RIVER GROUNDWATER
SUSTAINABILITY AGENCY (KRGSA) THAT APPLICATION BE
MADE TO THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF
WATER RESOURCES TO 'OBTAIN A GRANT UNDER THE 2021
SUSTAINABLE GROUNDWATER MANAGEMENT GRANT
PROGRAM
WHEREAS, KRGSA is coordinating with all Groundwater Sustainability
Agencies in the Kern subbasin to complete and submit an application for a
grant under the 2021 Sustainable Groundwater Management Grant Program
SGMA Implementation Grant pursuant to the California Drought, Water, Parks,
Climate, Coastal Protection, and Outdoor Access For All Act of 2018 (Pub.
Resources Code, § 80000, et seq.) and the Budget Acts of 2021 and 2022; and
WHEREAS, procedures established by the State of California require each
applicant's governing body to certify by resolution its approval of the submittal
of a grant application.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the KRGSA Board of Directors as
follows:
1. The above recitals are true and correct and are incorporated herein
by reference.
2. The Kern Groundwater Authority (KGA) is authorized to submit an
application to the State of California Department of Water Resources
(DWR) to obtain a grant under the 2021 Sustainable Groundwater
Management Grant Program SGMA Implementation Grant pursuant to
the California Drought, Water, Parks, Climate, Coastal Protection, and
Outdoor Access For All Act of 2018 (Pub. Resources Code, § 80000, et
seq.) and the Budget Acts of 2021 and 2022.
3. The KGA has the authority and shall enter into a funding agreement
with the Department of Water Resources to receive a grant for the
benefit of the Kern subbasin monitoring network improvement and
subsidence monitoring equipment.
4. The Board Chair of the KRGSA or his designee, including the Executive
Director of the KGA, is hereby authorized and directed to prepare the

necessary data, conduct investigations, file such application, execute
a funding agreement and any future amendments thereto, submit
invoices, and submit any reporting requirements with the Department
of Water Resources.

HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted by the
Kern River Groundwater Sustainability Agency on November 3, 2022.
