General Report City Manager. CityManager Benson appeared, and offered some suggestions in street improvement, mainly as follows;the paving of 17th. ,st. ,2A" to "Q" streets,Sumner St ,King St.To east City Line, the latter to be a narrower pavement something similar to our County Highways account of the particular frontage on this street, also suggested that the matter of paving Oak St. , Rosedale Bridge to west end of 19th,. ,st. , be taken up with the Kern County Land Co. ,inasmuch as they were the sole owners of property along this street. He suggested further that the plans and specifications be changed to require a heavier pavement, due to the fadt t1a .heavier trucks and heavier traffic generally is traversing the streets daily. He also brought up the matter of the connecting link of pave- ment of Union Ave from Sumner st.to 19th. ,street, which he considered would in a measurs r`sslieve thenl9th. ,street traffic.
