The ,~aard. o:8 Trustees of the City of Bakers:,~ield do ordain as follows:
Section Section ten of Ordinance numbered Five is hereby m,~en-
~ded.'to rea~'~s follows: ?o~ every keeper· of a dray or other vehicle
used for thc' trm~sportation of ~eight or 4~her ~aterial for hire two
dollars· per quarter for each one horse?~lray or other vehicle so used, ax
and three, dollars per quarter for each '~wo horse dray or other v~,hicle
so used payable in advance, ~nd no license grouted for less 'th ~n the
current quarter, and no rebate for l~cense money paid to be a).lowed or
nmde by the Board under an~ circm.ustances, provided that' .nothing-heroin'
contained Shall be construed to require a'l~icon.~e to be t~en out to~
do grading, £illlng in or excavating earth.
· Each of said drays or vehicles so used ,~hall be desiginated by
n~nber,to be i~m~ished by the City Clerk~thout cost to th~ o~ner,cor-
responding .With the n~ber o.~ the license;which n~.~ber shall be placed
~ such .om~er upon such vehicle in such ~er that it shall be plainly
disti~ishable whether such vehicle i~ in ~otion or not.
