The Board of Trustees of tl%e Oity of Bakersfield, do ordain as followS:
SECTION 1.All persons, firms or corporations engaged in, or te
become engaged in, the business of keeping an automobile or automobiles
out on the public streets of the City of Bakersfield, at a.re$~lar stand
and soliciting patronage therefor, and running such mztomobile or auto-
mobiles for hire within the corporate limits of said City, shall pay a
license tax therefor on each mztomobile so kept and rdn for hire, at
the rate of Five Dollars ($5.00) per quarter, payable in advance.
~- -SE'CTTON-~ll persons, firms or corporations· engaged l~ or to become
engaged in the business of keeping and conduet/~ng a gartge for pay withi~
the corporate limits of the said City of Bakersfield, shall pay a license
tax therefor, at the rate of'Five Dollars ($5.00) per ~xarter, payable
~n advance.
SECT!ON.~. All persons, firms or corpora%ionS who violate the
provisions of either sections one or two, of this ordinance, shall be
deemed quilty of a misdemeanor and itoh conviction thereof shall pay
fine of not more than Fifty Dollars, an~ not l~ss than Twent~ Del!ars
and in.default of th~ payment of said fine shall be imprisoned l.n ,~ke. ...
county Jail of the Co,sty of Kern at the rate of one ~day fQ~ each dollar
of said fine,
This Ordinance shall be in ~li force %nd effect from and after
.i~s passage and ~e publication as re~ired b~ law.
