The Board of Trustees of the City of Bakersfield do ordain as
Section 1- There shall be maintained at every .~lace of
busines% at every apartment house and. every place of residence, a
garbage can into which all garbage and rubbish must be deposited.
Such garbage can shall be round, and shall be two and cae
deeN,'and twenty inches in diameter; shall have a cone shaped top,
and shall be constructed out of Number ~ighteen Galvanized Iron, and
shall be water t~ght, and shall have painted thereon .t. Re name of the
owner and the street number of the place to which said can belongs,
At ~laces of business such cans must be maintained on the edge of the
sidewalk in frost of the place to which they belong. "
Section 2.
·,very person, or per~ons, corporation, partnership or
otherwise, either as the proprietor of a p~ace of business , apart-
ment house or residence who shall fail or neglect'to comply 'with
section One of this ordinance within thirty days after its passage
shall be guilty of a mis-demeanor, and upon cbnviction thereof shall
be punished by a fi'ne· not exceeding $~00.00 or-by imprisonment in ~he
County Jail not exceeding ninety days, or by both such fine and i~' '"
