~n ordinance amending an ordinance, entitled "An ordinance
establishing the width of sidewalks on streets and avenue~ in the city
of Bakersfield, passed on the ?th day of March, 1899."
The Board of Trustees of the City of Bakersfield, do ordain as
follows:
Said ordinance is hereby amended $o as to read as follows:
Section 1 .....
T~he Standard width of all sidewalks, on streets eighty two
and a half feet wide', (except on 19th Street, between the east line
· of Chester Avenue and the west line of "0" STreet',) in said City of
Bakersfield, shall be fourteen feet, including the outside curb of
said sidewalk. The. stando, rd width of all sidewalks on all streets
over seventy feet and less than eighty two and a half feet in width
shall be twelve feet, including the outside curb of said sidewalk.

shall be constructed and made to conform to the. following grade, to-wit:
The Inside or lot· line of all sidewalks shall be three inche~ higher
tha~ the grade line of the curD' of the streets and avenues and shall
slope to the outside of the curb on an even grade of three· inches.
Section two:
