an ordinance to amend an ordinance entitled, "an ordinance estab-
lishing the grade .of certain streets, avenues and alleys within the
City of Bakersfield and fixing the width a~i grade of sidewalks
thereon, passed b7 the Board of Trusteeson th~.. 6th da7 of January,
1902."
The Board of Trustees of the Cit7 of Bakersfield do orals, in. as
follows~ to-wit:
5ection 1- The grade of certain streets, avenues and alleTa in
the Cit7 of Bakersfield, as shown and designated upon that certain
map entitled "Grade Map of the Cit? of Bakersfield, Xern County,
California, compiled bY J. L. Evans, Cit7 Engineer of the Oit7 of
Bakersfield, l{ovember A. D. 190'1," and which map was adopted and ap~
proved by the Board of Trustees of the City of Bakersfield in regular
session on December l~th, A. D. 1901, as the official map of
grades of the streets, avenues and alleTs as therein and thereon
shown' .and designated B7 a blue line extending around the exterior
boundarie~, of said district, and filed in the office of the Cit7 Clerk
of said Cit7 on December 17th, A. D. lg'O:~l, is hereb7 declared to be
the official grad~., map of said streets, avenues and alleTs.
Section 2- The curb for sidewalhs along ·each side of 'the streets,
avenues a~ alleTe, within said CitT, the grade of which is hereb7 ad-
opted , s~ll be ten inches higher than the average of the gutter
grade.~ and shall be two inches lower than the center grad~, line of
the center of said streets, avenues and alleTs; and. all streets, ave.-.
nu~..~ and alleTs ~hall have a uniform curve to said gutter,, grade.
5~ec~iom. ~ This ordinance shall be in full force and effec~"~m
and after its paesag~...and publication as required b7 law.
