A.~ Ordinance providing for the issuance of
notice of a special election to be held in the C~ity
of Bakersfield, on the 31st day of October., A. D.
1911, for the purpose of submitting to the voters,
the question cf whether the sale of alcoholic liquors~
shall be licensed in said City: for designating
places in each election precinct for holding such
election: for publishing notice of said election and
for posting the same:~fcr the printing of ballots,
The Board of Trustees of the City Sf Bakersfield
do ordain as follows:-
Sec. 1. There shall be a special election
held in anti throughout the City of Bakersfield, on
the 31st day of October, A. D. 1911 for the purpose
of submitting to the voters the question, whether
the sale of alcoholic liquors shall be licensed in
said city.
Sec. 2. The question ~ whether the sale
of alcoholic liquors shall be licensed in the City
of Bakersfield shall be placed upon the ballot, in
the form provided by law.
Sec. 3. Each of the officers constituting the
several bos.rds of election shall receive as compen-
sation for services as such officers the sum of five..~
dollars
Sec. 4. The following shall be the form of the
notice of said election, and the persons therein
n~med sos Inspectors, Judges, Clerks and Ballot Clerks
shall be and they hereby are designated and appointed
as the officers of said ~l~ection in the respective
precincts for which they are named, and the house
or place where such election must be held in each
precinct is set forth in said notice, and each such
house or place so set forth is hereby designated
as the house or place within said precinct where
said election must be held, to wit~

To All VJhom it ~ay Concern:
Know ye, that pursuant to ls.w and the ordinance
of the Board of T~ustees of the City of Bakersfield,
a special election will be held in the respective
places of voting in the several precincts throughout
the City of Bakersfield, County of Kern, State of
California, between the hours of six (6) o'clock
a. m. and six (6) o'clock p. m. on Tuesday, the
.-~.~lst day of October, A. D. 1911, at which election
shall be submitted to the voters of. the City of
Bakersfield, the question whethel~ the sale of alcoholic
liquors shall be licensed in s~.~id City.
And the following named persons are hereby
appointed who shall constitute and be the Boards of
Election for the various voting precincts hereinafter
named, and the house or place is hereinafter desig~ted
within each of said precincts where the election must be
held, to wit:

Sec. 8. The City Clerk shall cause ballots to be
printed.which shall in all respects comply with the
provisions of Section llg~ of the Political Code of
this state. The ballots to be used at such election
