The Board of Trustees of the uity of Bakersfield to or-
dain as follows:
Section 1. It shall be unlawful' for the owner or person
in charge of any ~ack,~coac~, carriage, omHibu~, automobile, cab
or other vohiel~ ~~passenger~lfor hire to allow
any such vehicle, while awaiting emplo~ent,to occupy ~ny stud
upon the streets --' ' ' ' ' ~of the 0ity of.

Trustees of said City a written pe~it therefor, which pe~it shall
in ~ll cases continue in ~ora'~ for O~'e year from t~e dat~ thereof,
unless/revoked,as herein set forth, and at the expiration
period of one year such pe~it shall be void and of no effect;
vided, that no such pe~it s~ll ~e granted except upon the written
consent of the occupant of th~ first f~oor of the portion of the
building in front of which it is desired that such vehicle shall·
stand; provided, however, that if there is no building on the premises,
in front of which it is desired that such vehicZe shall stand, or
if there is a building and the first floor of the same ts not oc-
cupied, then such pe~it may be granted upon thc written consent of
the owner or lessee of such premises or building.
